Doctor house call in Sant Elm

Doc-Mallorca is an English- and German-speaking private medical house-call service in Sant Elm (07159, municipality of Andratx), serving the coastal village at Mallorca's far south-western tip opposite the Sa Dragonera nature-reserve island — directly at your small hotel, holiday rental or home, without a practice visit and with a personal callback from the doctor.

Sant Elm lies at the far south-western tip of Mallorca in the municipality of Andratx — directly opposite the nature-reserve island of Sa Dragonera, to which excursion boats cross from here. The village has deliberately stayed small: a sandy beach, the cove of Cala es Conills, seafood restaurants and a handful of small hotels and holiday rentals. Sant Elm is also the starting point of the popular hike to the abandoned Trappist monastery of Sa Trapa. From my base in Port d'Andratx I reach Sant Elm via S'Arracó in about 15 minutes. See Pricing for the fee overview and Services for the full scope.

Travel & service hours: From Port d'Andratx the road leads via S'Arracó to Sant Elm — about 15 minutes to the western end of the road. Please give the hotel name or exact address at first contact. Service hours: daily 8 AM–10 PM (Europe/Madrid). For night-time emergencies always call 112.

All stated travel times are approximate driving times when available. A guaranteed arrival or response time is not possible — at the time of your request I may already be on another house call. In life-threatening emergencies always call 112.

I'm Henrik Venus, a German doctor, recognised and authorised to practise in Spain. I treat in German and English and call you back personally — no call centre, no waiting room.

Pricing: from €250 to €450. Not a substitute for the emergency physician (112) — in life-threatening emergencies always call 112.

Frequently asked questions

What you want to know first.

Does the doctor really come out to Sant Elm at the end of the road?

Yes. Sant Elm may sit at Mallorca's far south-western tip at the end of the road, but it is firmly part of the regular service area of my English-speaking house call — with no travel surcharge. From my base in Port d'Andratx I drive via S'Arracó to Sant Elm (postcode area 07159, municipality of Andratx) in about 15 minutes. Examination and treatment take place directly at your small hotel, holiday rental or home. The indicative fee is €250–350 on weekdays 8 AM–5 PM (depending on distance), €400 for urgent requests and €450 in the evening and at weekends. I am Henrik Venus, a licensed physician. Service hours: daily 8 AM–10 PM. In a life-threatening emergency always call 112.

I got injured on the hike to Sa Trapa — can you help?

If you are back at your accommodation in Sant Elm after the hike, I treat injuries such as grazes and cuts, bruises or sprains directly on site — including wound care and dressings. The trail from Sant Elm to the abandoned Trappist monastery of Sa Trapa is popular but crosses partly rough coastal terrain. Important: if you are still stuck on the trail, unable to continue because of an injury, or in a life-threatening situation, call 112 immediately — mountain rescue is the right address then, and a house call is no substitute for a rescue in the terrain. For everything that comes afterwards, I can be with you in about 15 minutes from Port d'Andratx. Indicative fee: €250–350 on weekdays 8 AM–5 PM (depending on distance), €400 urgent, €450 in the evening and at weekends. Service hours: daily 8 AM–10 PM.

Do you also treat day visitors taking the boat trip to Sa Dragonera?

Yes. Sant Elm is the departure point for the boat crossing to the Sa Dragonera nature-reserve island, and many guests combine the trip with a day on the beach or at the cove of Cala es Conills. If you develop acute complaints after returning to your accommodation in Sant Elm — such as sunstroke, heat exhaustion, dehydration or gastrointestinal problems — I come directly to your small hotel or holiday rental. I cannot carry out house calls on the island of Sa Dragonera itself; for emergencies there always call 112. The indicative fee is €250–350 on weekdays 8 AM–5 PM (depending on distance), €400 for urgent requests and €450 in the evening and at weekends. I am Henrik Venus, a licensed physician. Service hours: daily 8 AM–10 PM.

How much does a house call in Sant Elm cost?

The indicative flat rate is €250–350 on weekdays 8 AM–5 PM (depending on distance), €400 for urgent requests and €450 in the evening and at weekends — travel included, even to the western end of the road in Sant Elm. The final amount depends on time and complexity. The drive from Port d'Andratx via S'Arracó takes about 15 minutes. Travel health insurers often reimburse private house calls abroad — reimbursement is possible but not guaranteed; please check your policy. I am Henrik Venus, a licensed physician. Service hours: daily 8 AM–10 PM. In a life-threatening emergency always call 112 — not a substitute for emergency services.

How long does it take you to reach Sant Elm?

About 15 minutes is the pure driving time once an appointment is agreed — from your first enquiry to treatment, expect 30–60 minutes. As a single doctor I cannot promise a guaranteed response time; I will always tell you honestly on the phone when I can be there.

Is there a 24-hour doctor in Sant Elm?

For medical emergencies, the European emergency number 112 is available around the clock — free of charge, with English- and German-speaking support. For everything that isn't an emergency, you can request a visit online anytime; the German-speaking house call in Sant Elm takes place daily between 8 am and 10 pm — directly at your hotel, finca or accommodation, with no waiting room.

When does the service launch?

The house-call service is live. Appointments can be booked now — daily 8 AM–10 PM.

Will my travel health insurance cover the cost?

Travel health insurers often reimburse private medical house calls abroad — reimbursement is possible but not guaranteed; the exact amount depends on your policy — please check with your insurer before travelling.

Can patients with German statutory health insurance book too?

Yes. Doc-Mallorca is a private medical house-call service and I invoice privately — you receive a private invoice regardless of your insurance. Patients with German statutory health insurance can apply for reimbursement under § 13 (4) SGB V (possible, not guaranteed).
